Edge of the Cedars State Park
in Utah was located
on the site of an original Pueblo dwelling in the Desert.
The Puebloans were
masters of masonry architecture. This structure would have housed several
families.
Down in the Kiva (an under ground circular
room) the temperature seemed 10-20 degrees less than on the surface, in spite of
the huge opening in the center where the ladder was.
.... an amazing and
free alternative to air conditioning to escape the heat of the mid day
desert.
